Types of vitamin –
1.Vitamin-A
2.Vitamin-D
3.Vitamin-E
4.Vitamin-K
5.Vitamin-B
6.Vitamin-C

1.Vitamin-A – It is also called Retinol. It’s an anti-infection and anticancer vitamin. It’s mainly divided in two types – I. A1 – for eye side.
II. A2 – epithelial lining and tear formation.
Source- carrot, green vegetables, papaya, mango, spinach.
Disease – Night blindness, Xerophthalmia.

2.Vitamin-D – It is also called sunshine vitamin & Calciferol. It is formed by cholesterol present in skin in present of UV light. It is only vitamin that behaves like a hormone. It is essential for bones and teeth.
Source – Cod-liver oil, Shark liver oil.
Disease – Rickets (in children), Oestomalacia (in adults).

3.Vitamin-E – It is also called Tocopherol, anti-sterility & beauty vitamin. It removes dark spots, wrinkles on skin.
Source – egg, cotton seed oil, flesh.
Disease – sterility

4.Vitamin-K – It is also called Naphthoquinone, anti-hemorrhagic vitamin. It helps in blood clotting. It is essential for formation of prothrombin.
Source – carrot, tomato, liver, green vegetables.
Disease – lateness in blood clotting.

5.Vitamin-B1 – It is also called thymine. It is a neurotrophic vitamin.
Source – rice, wheat, egg, fish.
Disease – Beriberi, Wernicke’s encephalopathy, Korsakoff psychosis.

6.Vitamin-B2 – It is also called Riboflavin/Vitamin-G/Lacto Flavin. It is a coloring agent. It is essential for formation of FMN and FAD. This vitamin is responsible for milk’s yellow color and urine’s yellow color, when we took B complex tabs.
Source – cow’s milk, egg, liver, yeast.
Disease – Angular Stomatitis, Ulcer in mouth.

7.Vitamin-B3 – It is also called Niacin/Nicotinic acid. It is an anti-pellagra factor or pellagra preventing vitamin. It forms essential components of NAD & NADP.
Source – milk, yeast, egg, kidney, liver.
Disease – Pellagra = 3D = Dementia, Diarrhea, Dermatitis.

8.Vitamin-B5 – It is also called Pantothenic acid. It helps in formation of acetyl choline. Normally it’s deficiency not found.
Source – kidney, yeast, milk, egg, liver.
Disease – Burning feet syndrome.

9.Vitamin-B6 – It is also called Pyridoxine/Anti dermatitis vitamin.
Source – liver, flesh, yeast, egg.
Disease – Dermatitis.

10.Vitamin-B7 – It is also called Biotin/Vitamin-H/Anti egg white injury factor.
Source – vegetables, yeast, egg, wheat.
Disease – Pain in muscles.

11.Vitamin-B9 – It is also called Folic acid/Vitamin-M. it is essential in RBC and DNA formation.
Source – yeast, milk, egg, liver, soya bean.
Disease – Megaloblastic Anemia.

12.Vitamin-B12 – It is also called Cyanocobalamin/Extrinsic factor of Casefile. It helps in RBC and DNA formation.
Source – egg, milk, yeast, flesh, liver.
Disease – Megaloblastic Anemia, From Intrinsic factor’s deficiency Vitamin-B12 also deficiencies which is called Pernicious Anemia.

13.Vitamin-C – It is also called Ascorbic acid/Anti scurvy/Anti-viral/Anti-cancer/Anti-rabies. It is essential for healing of wounds. Most common deficiency.
Source – tomato, citrus family, orange, lemon, guava.
Disease – Scurvy – pain in joints, deficiency in immunity, lateness in healing of wounds.

1.Most common anemia – Microblastic-anemia (from Iron’s deficiency).
2.Anti-cancer vitamin – A & C
3.Anti-Oxidant vitamin – A, C & E
4.Vitamins which are soluble in oil/fat – A, D, E & K
5.Vitamins which are soluble in water – B & C

पाचन की कार्यिकी (Physiology of Digestion)

1. मुखगुहा में पाचन (Digestion in mouth) - पाचन की प्रक्रिया यांत्रिक एवं रासायनिक विधियों द्वारा सम्पन्न होती हैं। मुखगुहा के मुख्यतः दो कार्य होते हैं- (अ) भोजन को चबाना व (ब) निगलने की क्रिया।

ओर्निथिन चक्र (Ornithine cycle)

यकृत में अमोनिया से यूरिया बनाने की क्रिया भी होती हैं। यह एक जटिल रासायनिक प्रतिक्रिया है , जिसे ऑर्निथिन चक्र (Ornithine cycle) कहते हैं। इसी का नाम क्रेब्स-हैन्सेलेट (Krebs-Henslet cycle) चक्र भी हैं। यूरिया बनने की संपूर्ण प्रक्रिया एक चक्रीय प्रक्रिया हैं तथा इसमें अमोनिया , कार्बनडाइऑक्साइड एवं अमीनो अम्ल का समूह भाग लेते हैं। इसलिए ही इसे ‘ ऑर्निथीन-ऑर्जिनीन चक्र ’ (Ornithine-Arginine cycle) भी कहते हैं। यह निम्न पदों में पूरा होता हैं -   Ornithine cycle
